Help Mary learn your taste.

Before launch, 22 people in the US will use Mary Jane Knows for two weeks and tell us, honestly, whether it picks the right flower for them. In return, the full version is yours, free, for life.

What you get.

  • The full version, for life

Every store and all its flowers, checks every 6 hours with alerts, “Let Mary explain”, research with AI, the jar label and the lab index kept up to date. No payment, now or later.

  • A say before anyone else

What you tell us changes the app before it launches: how it scores, what it asks, what it says.

  • Your name in the thanks

If you want it, your first name goes on the list of the people who tested it first.

Two weeks, start to finish.

About 45 minutes of your time, plus trying the flower. Nothing runs past day 14.

  1. Day 0 · 25 min

    Set it up

A short survey before you open the app. Then tell Mary what you like, add your store, mark your favorite strains and put at least one you did not like on your blacklist.

  2. Days 1 to 13

Try 3 or 4 new strains

Half chosen by you, half from “For you”. Log each one from its card: the app hides the match while you log, so your rating is yours alone.

  3. Day 7 · 3 min

Tell us how it is going

A second, short survey: did your store load, is the match clear, is anything in the way.

  4. Day 14 · 10 min

The last survey and your results

Save your results from Settings → Beta and upload them with the survey. Before saving, the app shows you what the file carries.

Who we are looking for.

  • 21 or older, in the US

Where cannabis is legal for you. The beta is US only for now.

  • You buy flower online

At a store with an online menu. We check that Mary can read most of your store’s flower with lab data; that is how we pick the 22.

  • A Windows, Mac or Linux computer

Mary Jane Knows is a desktop app. There is no phone version yet.

  • You will finish

Three or four new strains in two weeks, logged honestly, and three surveys.

If you do not get a spot, you will hear from us once, on launch day. In Canada? The beta is US only; apply anyway and you will be on the list for when it reaches you.

Your data, plainly.

The app still keeps everything on your computer. Two things leave it, and only these two.

The form sends

  • Your first name and email
  • Country and state
  • The link to your store’s online menu
  • Your computer and how often you buy

To our mailing service (Acumbamail), only to choose testers and write to you. You can leave the list at any time.

The results file carries

  • Your tester code
  • Your profile, as numbers
  • Your library and logbook, with what the app predicted
  • How many flowers your stores have

Not your name, email, notes, store names or prices, and nothing you said about your health. You see it before you save it, and you choose to send it.

Questions

Do you pay for the flower?

No. You buy your own, as always. What you get is the full version, for life.

What if I cannot finish?

Tell us. The license stays yours; we just will not count your results.

Will Mary tell me what is good for my health?

No. Mary Jane Knows is not medical advice. It compares the chemistry of what your stores sell with what you liked before.

When do I hear back?

When applications close. We write to the 22 with the app, their license and the first survey.

Apply for the beta.

Two minutes. We read every application.
